Modification of Local Rules for Holes #4, 11, 12, and
17…Effective October 16, 2006!
The Board adopted the following local rule at its September 28, 2006 Board Meeting:
If your Tee Shot lands in the
Hazard or you are not certain of the location, you Must* proceed
to the Drop Area. Drop a second ball. If you find your original ball and
it is playable, then that ball is in play. If the original ball is in the
Hazard, Lost and /or unplayable then the second ball is in play under
penalty of 1 stroke.
The goal of the foregoing is to help maintain an even flow during play, eliminating or at least minimizing delays at these holes. Hopefully this will encourage players to use the Drop Areas. Making the rule apply to all four holes should help lessen any confusion, because it is the same for all these holes.
*See Appendix I, paragraph 6. Dropping Zones; Rules of Golf 2006/2007.
