Election Results from the 2005 Annual Meeting and Golf…

On September 18, seventy-two Club Members played golf, enjoyed each other’s company, won door prizes and voted.  Mike Anderson, Wilson Fong, Frank Frankhauser and Dick McLeod were elected to the Board of Directors for three years, beginning January 1, 2007.  Dan Beswick, Harry Emerzian and Hideo Hashimoto will be leaving the Board December 31, 2006.  Their many contributions, dedication to the Club, and energy will be missed.  Ralph Bernstein and Tony Ponticelli ably conducted the election with golf and lunch organized by Frank Frankhauser.  As usual, Bruce Fujikawa arranged for wonderful prizes to be won by various Club Members.  Thanks to all for organizing another outstanding event.

Board News…

Glen Ingram resigned from the Board, effective immediately.  Jim Whitaker and the Board of Directors elected Larry Peck to fill the remaining two years of Glen’s term.

Dinner-Dance on October 27…

Frank Frankhauser promises another great event.  Guests are welcome and tables of 8 are available.  Bring the whole foursome.  No host bar opens at 5:30 PM with dinner scheduled for 6:30 PM.  Sign-up sheet and menu can be found on our website.  For information, contact Frank Frankhauser at (650)-948-7432.

Modification of Local Rules for Holes #4, 11, 12, and 17…Effective October 16, 2006!

The Board adopted the following local rule at its September 28, 2006 Board Meeting:

If your Tee Shot lands in the Hazard or you are not certain of the location, you Must* proceed to the Drop Area. Drop a second ball. If you find your original ball and it is playable, then that ball is in play. If the original ball is in the Hazard, Lost and /or unplayable then the second ball is in play under penalty of 1 stroke.

The goal of the foregoing is to help maintain an even flow during play, eliminating or at least minimizing delays at these holes. Hopefully this will encourage players to use the Drop Areas. Making the rule apply to all four holes should help lessen any confusion, because it is the same for all these holes.

*See Appendix I, paragraph 6. Dropping Zones; Rules of Golf 2006/2007.
