Annual Meeting, Election and Golf…
Our day begins with 7:00AM coffee, pastry and voting for directors at Michael’s followed by a shotgun start at 7:30AM. The Tournament is Best Ball Foursome with Foursomes arranged by the Club. Our annual luncheon, introduction of newly elected Directors and award of door prizes will follow. The golf sign-up deadline is September 11 and an entry form can be found on our web site. If you are not planning to play golf, please join us for the free noon luncheon. Call Frank Frankhauser at (650)-948-7432 to sign-up.
Four new directors will be elected from a slate of 6 members running for the Board. The members running for the Board are: Mike Anderson, Frank Frankhauser, Wilson Fong, Dick McLeod, Jim Schmidt, and Ralph Yob. The Annual Meeting is your opportunity to express your opinion and vote for Board members. Your input is important and welcome. So please plan to attend and vote.
Dues are Due…
Dues are due for 2006. The NCGA increased dues for 2007. Club Membership dues are now $70.00 ($45.00 for Social Membership) if you sign-up by November 15 and will increase to $80.00 ($55.00 for Social Membership) after that. For information, contact Bruce Fujikawa at (408)-252-6448. A renewal form can be found at the end of this Newsletter for those receiving a hardcopy. For the rest of us, a renewal form can be found on our Club Web Site.
October 27, 2006 (Friday): Annual Club Dinner-Dance…
Frank Frankhauser promises another great event. Guests are welcome and tables of 8 are
available. Bring the whole
foursome. No host bar opens at 5:30 PM
with dinner scheduled for 6:30 PM.
Sign-up sheet and menu can be found at the end of this Newsletter and on
our web site. For information, contact
Frank Frankhauser at (650)-948-7432.
From the Tee Time Committee…
On October 1, PF numbers for all foursomes will be re-set to 4.0. On another matter, our elapsed time varies from week to week but the Club average for a round is 4:30. However, for the Club to play in 4:30, the first group must be un-impeded so they can play in approximately 4:00. For example, on August 28, the fastest (first) group played in 4:02 while the slowest group played in 4:41 with a Club median time of 4:25. As you know, the recommended pace at Shoreline is between 4:23 and 4:30. At this time, we have spoken with two groups because they have continued to allow gaps to form between their group and the group in front. It is our hope that by informing groups whenever a gap consistently occurs, the group will do what is necessary to keep up with the group in front. By playing at the pace recommended by the Course, we believe that all foursomes will experience an enjoyable round of golf. Please continue to write your finishing time on your scorecards. Thank you.
From the Desk of Paula Bettencourt…
