The Tee Time Committee is in the process of reviewing the returned surveys. Until the review is completed and results shared with the Board of Directors, there will be no change in assigned tee times through the month of April. Also, we will continue to monitor the pace that each foursome plays 18 holes as well as the consistency of participation by foursomes on Monday play. Therefore, please continue to release your tee time by the Friday prior to our usual Monday Tournament and maintain your position behind the group in front of you. A sheet will be available at the 18th Green for you to record your finishing time.
Since it is ultimately each foursomes responsibility to maintain at least the established pace, they should constantly be aware of their relationship with the group ahead and behind them to keep an even flow of play for all. Remember, you are behind on par three holes if you are not on the tee as the group ahead reaches the tee of the next hole. On par four holes, you are behind if you are not teeing off as the group ahead of you is leaving the green. You are behind on par five holes if you have not hit all your tee shots if the group ahead is on the green.
Tom Hayes was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, and earned a graduate degree in engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. During World War II, he served for two and a half years in the Canadian Army. In 1951, he came to the States and took out U.S. citizenship, ending up in California in 1959. Tom worked as an engineer for a number of major companies, including DuPont, Westinghouse, General Electric and finally Lockeed, where he put in 28 years. His wife, Helen, is from New Jersey and they have 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. The Hayes have lived in Mountain View for 47 years. Tom didn’t take up golf until 1990 but already has two holes in one to his credit at Shoreline. He likes an occasional game of poker, especially Texas Hold ‘Em.
Share Your Golf Destinations…
Seniors travel a lot, often to interesting and challenging golf courses. If you have a favorite golf course or golf destination, won’t you take a few moments to share it with the rest of the Club? It would be appreciated and can only add to the enjoyment of other Club Members. Just email your experiences to Hideo Hashimoto at www.shorelinesenior@yahoo.com or drop your comments in the scorecard box on Monday or Wednesdays. Your tips will be shared in a future Club Newsletter. Thanks in advance.

Eagle Ridge Golf…
How many of you are interested in playing a round at Eagle Ridge? If you are, please indicate your interest by signing up at the Greeter’s Table on Monday. There is no commitment on your part. We are trying to gauge the interest of Club Members for such an outing. If the interest is there, we will arrange a golf outing to Eagle Ridge as soon as feasible.

Chevy Dump Truck Added to SGL Fleet
Two pieces of equipment were added to the Shoreline Golf
Links fleet this year. The new walk
behind greens mower arrived in the fall.
Just recently, a refurbished Chevy flat bed pick-up truck with dump
capabilities was delivered to the maintenance yard here at Shoreline. The previous dump truck was well worn and
rarely taken out of the Park. The “new”
vehicle is in good shape and is a welcome addition to our inventory.
Bridge Over Permanente Creek
The bridge over Permanent Creek is nearly complete. During March, the bridge connections to the concrete abutments were finished. The approach to the bridge on the east side was also begun. Completion of the asphalt path was delayed due to rain.
