We are pleased to report on another new member of our Shoreline Senior Golf Club..Welcome Dick Goelzer!! Dick has been a resident of Los Altos for the past 29 years, and an even more important piece of information is that he was born in Milwaukee and spent his early formative years in the great state of Wisconsin!. It is wonderful to have another Badger joining our group. That makes two of us now!!
After high school Dick spent a year at the Naval Academy and then transferred to Bradley University where he was a member of the nationally ranked Bradley University basketball team. Upon graduation in 1953, Dick moved west and found employment for the next 40 years in the wine industry. To learn more about this great new addition to our club call Dick at 650- 941-1636 and fill in your foursome.
And our second welcome goes out to John Figueroa. John lives in Mountain View, and just retired in June of this year. John has been a High School teacher for 36 years in this area. Sunnyvale, Overfelt, Los Altos and Alta Vista High Schools have been beneficiaries of his teaching and coaching skills. John was head football coach at Overfelt and Los Altos. Ask John about his experiences the past 12 years at Alta Vista a continuation High School (inspiring and compelling)..John can be reached at 650-940-1646.

If any Club Member has any suggestions or comments about the Golf Course, contact Harry Emerzian. Harry is the Club liaison to the Golf Course Green’s Committee and he welcomes any input from Club Members.
On September 17, sixty-eight Club Members played golf, enjoyed each other’s company, won door prizes and voted. Sid Cantwell, Harry Emerzian, Syed Hyder, and OJ Pilcher were elected to the Board of Directors for three years, beginning January 1, 2007. Bob Williams and Hideo Hashimoto will be leaving the Board December 31, 2007. Their many contributions, dedication to the Club, and energy will be missed. Ralph Bernstein ably conducted the elections with golf and lunch organized by Frank Frankhauser. As usual, Bruce Fujikawa arranged for wonderful prizes to be won by various Club Members with the able assistance of his wife. Thanks to all for organizing another outstanding event.
Dues are due for 2008. Dues are $70.00 ($45.00 for Social Membership) if you sign-up by November 15 and will increase to $80.00 ($55.00 for Social Membership) after that. Renewal forms can also be found at the Greeter’s Table each week.

Frank Frankhauser promises another great event. Guests are welcome and tables of 8 are available. Bring the whole foursome. No host bar opens at 5:30 PM with dinner scheduled for 6:30 PM.
